Weddings & Receptions

Your Wedding Day should one of the most memorable in your life and for all the right reasons.

The selection of the right disc-jockey or band can make a huge difference in your festivities, especially your reception. While I sing with a band from Salt Lake City that is available for receptions, I perform many more wedding receptions as a disc-jockey.

There are some weddings and receptions that take place in the same location, (the Machine Shop, Bear River Pavilion & under the big tent in Historic Depot Square come to mind)  and for these combinations, I offer a wide selection of wedding music, including different processionals, recessionals and background music while guests are being seated. I find it's a good idea to meet with the prospective bride & groom to not only select the music they desire for their ceremony, but to ensure that the choices for their first dance, a dance with their parents, etc. are exactly what they want. I want things to go as smoothly as possible, so that I just blend into the background, and the chosen music sets the mood with the desired outcome.

If you have a special performer (singer with a karaoke background track or their own accompanyment) for your wedding or reception, I can "mic" the performance through my sound system, which includes PA & Bose speakers ~ the size of the venue and whether it is an indoor or outdoor affair determine what gear I bring ~ this is another reason I like to meet with couple in advance. Every wedding is different, and my mission is to deliver everything desired, with no surprises.

There are a few other details I like to talk over with the soon-to-be couple, and most are elements of their big day. Do you want announcements for elements like the cutting of the cake and first dance? Will you have a money dance? Would you like karaoke as part of your reception entertainment or just dance music? Country, rock, disco, oldies or combo of all genres? Do you have a set time you want your reception to end or just "play it by ear?"

I have performed weddings and receptions all over Evanston and beyond, and have been fortunate enough to be asked to sing at many, too. I have never, nor ever will charge for for the honor of singing at a wedding or reception, however, the DJ end of things is work, even though I usually have a great time myself.

My rates $50 an hour, plus a $50.00 set-up/tear-down fee. I bring some 3,000 cds (many of which are currently being transferred to a 60 GB ipod to make my life easier) that cover the 50's through today ~ rock, pop, disco, country, blues ~ whatever you have in mind. I'm equipped with some 200 karaoke cds, but again, that is optional.

Thanks for checking in and please check back, as I will post wedding music samples and an information form that will allow prospective couples to answer some of the questions posed from above along with obtaining the answers that you seek.
