Your Evanston Jaycees are hosting an American Idol styled Karaoke Contest on July 27th, beginning at 7pm @ the Legal Tender Lounge. Compete for great prizes in the categories of best male vocalist, best female vocalist, best duet, best group, best impersonation and for the "William Hung" award for funniest performance! Contest proceeds will go toward the purchase of a Bullard Thermal Imaging Camera for the Evanston Fire Department. The Bullard Imaging Technology, which costs approximately $12,000, is used by firefighters to pinpoint sources of a fire, identify weak points of a building's structure during a fire, and even detect the location of victims in a burning building.
