What do you recall about that season or title game?: I was working at Hillcrest Chevron and it was a nasty sort of day...one of the worst 'stingy' blizzards I can remember..it made serving customers difficult...in-between cars I was able to listen to the game on the radio, and as I was off work by halftime, I was fortunate enough to go straight to the game..by that time it had stopped blizzarding, and I remember the field being a sheet of ice...I saw other alums on the sideline so I went down and joined them...by that time the Red Devils were well in control of the game and I was extemely happy for the boys and so very proud of them and Coach Fackrell and his staff.  It was a great day for Evanston, and I think of it and smile whenever I am blessed with seeing a 'snow game' on the tely.

What do you recall about that season or title game?: I was a junior when we beat Torrington in "the snow" bowl.  40+ to 7.  What a thrill that game was.  We had to win.  There was so much going on with the team and the tradition of Red Devil football.  We had lost championships to Buffalo in 83, and Wheatland in 84. We had a lot of hopes for the 85 season.  Our coaches son Ryan had passed away that year in his fight with cancer.  We had patches on our jerseys to remember him.  I will never forget the impact that the coaches and players had in my life.  Thanks Coach Fackerall, Smith, Sherrod, Wagstaff, and Patzer.  In fact I became a coach myself and have been coaching for the last 15 years.  God has blessed me with three state championships and two final four appearances.  To this day, when I watch any game, on the opening kick off I chant "WHO'S GONNA HIT!"

Best of Luck 2006 Red Devils.
